Reignwood Forum / Global Collecting Forum 2009
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of China, the forum of Global Arts Collecting 2009 (Reignwood Forum), sponsored by the Reignwood Group, the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, and the Beijing Culture & Art Foundation, and organised by RedStar Gallery, will be held in Beijing between 9 to 11 October, 2009.
The global art collecting forum was established in Britain with emphasis on the Arts in the Global Society initiated by the Institute of Strategic Dialogue. It brings together top figures around the world including collectors, arts foundations, arts donators and organizations, curators and directors of museums and art galleries, art academies’dean, famous experts in the collection field, as well as policy makers related to collection. The forum was founded in 2004 and has been sucesscully held five times in the Spencer House located in central London built in the 18th century less than 200 meters away from Buckingham Palace.
The forum will be composed by three parts, closed forum, open forum and China art exhibition. The closed forum will continue to address the issue, Arts in the Global Society; two sub-topics will be added into the forum’s agenda by ISD, Collecting in Today's Turbulent World - A Dialogue Between East and West. The closed forum will be held in Reignwood on 10 October.
Taking into account the characteristics of China, the host will hold a series of open forums during the Reignwood Forum, bringing together demestic and foreign government agencies’representatives as well as top figures in academia,financial sector, the investment community, collection,arts media, and arts market to publicly address critial issues, such as the prospect of China’s collection market, concept and model of the Western and China Collection.
RedStar Gallery, as the orgaiser of the Forum will hold a feature exhibition on China contemporary arts titiled Collision—30 Cases of Contemporary Chinese Art Experiments in China Central Academy of Fine Arts. During the Forum, the Reignwood Forum will hold several high-end feature exhibitions on Chinese arts and crafts boutique, to showcase the standard and style of Chinese contemporary art to guests, demestic and foreign collectors and the public. 。
